Nurse Assistant Training Program

The Nurse Assistant Training program offers a thorough five week course for day students, or if you prefer, a seven week evening course of study that prepares students to begin a career in the medical field. The course combines classroom lessons with field experience (“clinicals”) for the best training available in the NAT field. Upon graduation and the passing of the state certification exam, Nurse Assistants can work in hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted-living facilities. EKG Technician Training Program

 Our EKG Technician Training program offers a five week classroom   and an approximate two week clinical course of study that involves the  heart and its function. Our instructors focus on providing the most thorough educational experiences possible for our students. This class is a combination of lecture and hands-on skill training that enables the student to succeed in the classroom and gain the skills and confidence to perform their assigned tasks during clinical rounds held at Red Cross chosen facilities. Successful graduates are qualified to sit for the National Healthcareer Association’s EKG Technician Certification exam. Upon successful completion of this exam, a graduate is nationally certified in the field. EKG Technicians work in hospitals, sports facilities, medical offices and cardiac rehabilitative offices. Phlebotomy Technician Training Program.

Our Phlebotomy Technician Training program offers a five week classroom and an approximate two week clinical course of study that trains the student to perform the job duties of a Phlebotomist. This class is a combination of lecture and hands-on skill training that enables the student to succeed in the classroom and gain the skills and confidence to perform their assigned tasks during clinical rounds held at Red Cross chosen facilities. Successful graduates are qualified to sit for the National Healthcareer Association’s Phlebotomy Technician Certification exam. Upon successful completion of this exam, a graduate is nationally certified in that field. Phlebotomists work in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, doctor’s offices and laboratories. Patient Care Technician Training Program

Our Patient Care Technician Training program is a combination of:

*Nurse Assistant Training

*EKG Technician Training

*Phlebotomy Technician Training

Graduate students that possess certification in all three fields are then eligible to sit for the Patient Care Technician/Nurse Extender Certification exam. Patient Care Technicians work in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, cardiac rehabilitation facilities laboratories and doctor’s offices. Credits earned at the American Red Cross may not transfer to another educational institution.  Credits earned at another educational institution may not be accepted by the American Red Cross.  You should obtain confirmation that the American Red Cross will accept any credits you have earned at another educational institution before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement.  You should also contact any educational institutions that you may want to transfer credits earned at the American Red Cross to determine if such institutions will accept credits earned at the American Red Cross prior to executing an enrollment contract or agreement.  The ability to transfer credits from the American Red Cross to another educational institution may be very limited.  Your credits may not transfer and you may have to repeat courses previously taken at the American Red Cross if you enroll in another educational institution.  You should never assume that credits will transfer to or from any educational institution.  It is highly recommended and you are advised to make certain that you know the transfer or credit policy of the American Red Cross and of any other educational institutions you may in the future want to transfer the credits earned at the American Red Cross before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement.
