The American Red Cross is the nation’s leading provider of health education, and the Nursing & Health Education Department offers training and/or education on a number of health-related subjects.


Nurse Assistant Training Program

The Nurse Assistant Training program is a very thorough five-week course of study that prepares students to begin a career in the medical field. The course combines classroom lessons with field experience (“clinicals”) for the best training available in the NAT field. Upon graduation and the passing of the state certification exam, Nurse Assistants can go to work in hospitals, nursing homes, or assisted-living facilities. Blood Pressure Screenings

The Red Cross can send certified blood pressure screeners to area health fairs, community fairs, staff meetings and other events for FREE. Information on this services can be accessed by calling the American Red Cross at (865) 584-2999 or by sending an e-mail with your request to redcross@knoxarc.org.
